Connection Problem

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I installed sucessfully Astaro V7 on a PC. After the installation I want to check the connection from the Client PC to the Firewall but it failed. I tried to ping the Firewall.

This is my Hardware configuration of the Firewall: 

Mainboard: Abit KT7
CPU: Amd Athlon 750Mhz
Network Cards: 2xSMC (was detected but not listed in the HCL) 
RAM: 1GB SDRAM

I know it would be better to use a faster CPU but that shouldn't be the reason of the problem.


Everything works with the IPCop- and Endian- Firewall and so I dont know why it doesn't work with the Astaro Firewall.

    Hi, I believe Astaro has ping disabled by default.

    You should point your browser to https://192.168.100.1:4444

    Substitute the IP you used during installation, and make sure you're plugged into the correct interface.

    If you still have trouble, login to the firewall as root and try 
    ping -f ip.of.your.pc

    The Internal NIC should be blinking at that point.
    Press CTRL-C to abort.
