IBM hardware Questions

All,

I am considering an upgrade for astaro and was looking at the Lenovo M58e small form factor PC. Outside of the marvel 9057 ethernet card is any one aware of problem with astaro and lenovo PC's? Should I expect the marvel nic to be a problem? Here is a link to the box I am considering:

Lenovo ThinkCentre M58e 7259 B3U SFF Desktop PC - Intel Pentium Dual Core E6300 2.8GHz, 3GB DDR2, 500GB HDD, DVDRW, XP Professional/Windows 7 Professional at TigerDirect.com

With this box I will be ordering a second 10/100/1000 low profile nic.

    I have discovered that Astaro will not load on a Lenovo 8910AMU desktop PC. My efforts have utilized both the SMP, and Classic install from the CD. Going one step further I attempted to run PFSense from CD (no beatings please) which also will not run on this box. Windows XP runs fine. In thinking this through I have concluded that the box may be either too advanced for the versions of Linux/Unix which Astaro, and PFSense use or may be related to the 64 bit capabilities of the PC. When running the SMP install on the device the install hangs at uncompressing the kernel. Using the classic install, it runs until the country is configured then displays a message to remove the CD and restart. PFSense is not able to mount the drive. Once version 8 comes out I will try again. In the mean time I will execute plan “B” and replace my workstation which is 6 years old. The CD I used is version 7.502 and works fine on other devices. So the issue definitely is with the IBM. Will version 8 of Astaro be 64 bit compatible?
