Migration ASG120 to ASG220: Backup restore possible?

Hi folks,

we need to replace a ASG120 with an ASG220.

Is this possible by backup/restore?  Some Years ago, this was not [:(]

The main problem is the SSL VPN CA. We have 25 VPN Clients which are connected by SSL. So we had to replay 25 configs and this makes no fun [;)] Otherwise I will try to restore the CA to the new device.

  • I believe the only issue is the license.  Try a restore followed by uploading the license for the 220.

If you do need to let 25 clients get new configuration files, activate the User Portal and tell them to login there and download.  It's easy to set up and easy to use.

  • Hi Bob,
    thanks for your replay.

I will report in a few weeks when it's done. We wait for the new device [:)]

  • Such a migration is no problem.  After you restore the backup, and attempt to log into Webadmin, you will be prompted to upload a 220 license.  After you provide a valid 220 license, it should all work fine.
