two ethernet cards for filtering through proxy server

Hi,

I am new to ASG.

Could someone please explain to me, or guide to were may I found information on the requirement for Astaro needing two (2) ethernet cards. Is said need conditional to the features that will be used on ASG?

Do I need two have two (2) ethernet cards, if I wish to setup ASG in a box to act as a proxy server, through which the Internet usage in some users computers will be channeled through?

Thanks,

  • yes you have to have two cards minimum.  astaro.com/kb has all the documentation.

  • 1 card is for your Internet connection (Routable public IP) the other is for your local area network (Non-Routable local IP).

This is a basic understanding for devices like Astaro. Since this is a new concept to you, I would read the documentation throughly before implementing Astaro.
