License expired - Management blocking. Possible?

I was wondering:

in the 'good old days', an expired license forced the webadmin logon to make you upload a valid license before you could reach the administration pages... This seems to not be the case anymore.

We have a client that doesn't (want to?) renew his license for a couple of months now... and we would like to force them a bit, if they want to keep using Astaro software for the firewall...

Is it possible to have the 'good old upload-your-valid-license-before-you-can-continue' page back? If so, how?

Thanks for the help!

  • I don't think that's going to happen; Astaro offers the "Essentials" base license for free.  However, if they had maintenance or any of the other features enabled, those features will stop working, as will the up2dates, etc. making the firewall rather useless for full protection until the up2dates to the IPS, AV engines, and content filters are restored, and the only way to do that is to renew the subscriptions.

The best you can do in this case is to warn your customer about the pitfalls and security issues inherent in losing their up2date capabilities, etc. and let them make their own decision.
