7.502 ISO Image on ASG220

Hello all...


today i tried to install a a freshly from the ASTARO FTP-Server downloaded ISO-Image with the Name

ssi-7.502-091211-1.iso

on one of our ASG220 Applicances (i guess Hardware Rev. 1)

It boots nicely from CD-Rom and uncompresses Linux. 

But at Step 3 the Box say "Installation failed, Remov CD-Rom and restart the system"

Any Idea why this happens?

    I'm having the same issue... after using "ALT-F1" and viewing the install.log I see that it's failing while verifying checksums on the file: "install.tar" ... all of the other files verify perfectly ... can we get a different mirror to download the business essentials free edition? 

    I've downloaded this file from 3 different computers, and burned at least 5 different CD's, it has to be on astaro's side.

    I just really want to test drive this software before we buy it and put it in our production environment.

    Bill, that's the iso for the Astaro hardware appliance.  For a generic computer, use:
    ftp://ftp.astaro.com/pub/Astaro_Security_Gateway/v7/software_appliance/iso/asg-7.502-091211-1.iso

    Max, I'm not sure you can load the 7.502 iso on an old appliance with only 512MB of RAM.  Have you tried one of these ideas from a post by utm_kid? 

    Installation routine (Alt+F1)
    Interactive Bash console 1 (Alt+F2)
    Installation log (Alt+F3)
    Kernel log (Alt+F4) to get error idea

    ohhhhh .... I really hope that's the problem, because I've been trying to try this software. Maybe you guys can make that a little more clear on the site?

    When it starts the installation where all the little dots appear it always says

    failed to open /etc/mtab no such file or directory

    Btw. the Appliance has 1 Gig Ram...

    Thanks Bob... your hint did the Trick...

    on The Installation Log (Alt+F3) you can see a protokoll of the Hardware Checking and a kind of Scoring where the install routine tries to find out if it is really a ASG220 - And i only had only 9 from 11 which means: Failed.

    The reason was that the HDD had been changed and someone just installed the regular PC ISO on the Box...

    I Replaced the Harddisk with an acceped Model (Seagate) and the installation worked like a charm..
