I am evaluating Astaro's virtual appliance for my organization and the problem I am having is that the login web page times out shortly after installing. After that occurs there is nothing I can do to log in again.
The VM is running on a Dell 2950 with 16G of memory and dual quad core processors so I highly doubt it is a resource issue. The hypervisor is VMware's ESXi vSphere 4.0.
My Astaro config is very simple. The Astaro has 3 vNics configured as one External and two Internal. There are a few rules to allow RDP traffic from the external to the internals, web transparent proxy is turned on, DNS forwarding is configured, and NTP is also configured.
I rebuilt it this morning after it stopped working yesterday and I am now having the same problem. I even took a snapshot when it was working, but reverting to the snapshot does not resolve the issue. Even when it is working it is extremely slow, taking up to 30 seconds sometimes to show the left menu items or to switch between menu items. I frequently get timeouts and other errors. The entire network is Gig/E and I have no performance problems in any other areas of the network.
I know very little about Linux, is there anything I can do from the command line to fix or troubleshoot this? The command line is still very responsive and I browsed a few directories with no problems. When the web page stops working I can still establish RDP sessions through the firewall to the internal servers.
