upgrade fails with "Could not extract tar from gpg"

ASG120
serial number: 950600143-******
memory 512MB (497 MB in gateway manager)
Active firmware 7.405

Updating to version 7.500 fails with:
Could not extract tar from gpg: 'Error in GPG verification (return code: 256)'

I've tried (almost?) everything, delete all updates from /var/up2date/sys and download updates again, reboot several times,....

Last thing was: delete  u2d-sys-7.500.tgz.gpg and download with
wget  http://ftp.astaro.com/ASG/v7/up2date/u2d-sys-7.500.tgz.gpg
but no success, same problem arise.

also with manual gpg:
# gpg --verify u2d-sys-7.500.tgz.gpg
gpg: Signature made Wed Sep 30 08:13:59 2009 CEST using DSA key ID 1E14F571
gpg: BAD signature from "Astaro Up2Date Sign "

interesting that following version 7.501 signature is OK:
# gpg --verify u2d-sys-7.501.tgz.gpg
gpg: Signature made Tue Oct 27 15:04:21 2009 CET using DSA key ID 1E14F571
gpg: Good signature from "Astaro Up2Date Sign "
gpg: Note: This key has expired!
