Rtl 8102e

Hi All

I have just purchased a Gigabyte S Series Motherboard (G31M-ES2C) which has a on board RTL 8102E.

The problem is Astaro does not detect this card on installation - is there a a way I can add drivers for this or a solution someone might have?

Hi,
Add a supported PCI NIC?
Supported NICs are listed at http://www.astaro.com/lists/HCL-ASG-V7.txt

If you know the name of the Linux Kernel module which would support that NIC, post it here, and Astaro may add it in a future release.

I have 2 PCI slots, both of these are populated with NIC's. I have 2 ISP's and a LAN and need the onboard to start working so I can connect to the 2nd ISP.

Is there a way to get the 8102e to work?

No way to get the 8102 to work until Astaro adds it to the kernel. Not likely to happen overnight, as they do extensive testing anytime they modify / update the kernel (with good reason).

Thanks for your reply, more and more motherboards have the RTL810x Ethernet chipset - so people just need to watch out when they order their hardware...
