UPS Support

I'm researching UPS systems for a customer at the moment and was wondering if anyone has any experiences with these?

Has anyone successfully installed UPS with Astaro Linux supported Power Management software?  If they have, what were their experiences and what would be the Astaro recommended UPS System to allow graceful halting and shutdown of the system on power failure?

    I use an APC and I did have to reboot for it to be picked up...

    Hi,

    We use an APC 1U rackmount unit (sua750rm1u) with our Astaro unit and it works great. No reboot needed it picked up the UPS immediately. The Astaro software it seems is configured to run the UPS with maximum runtime. Which means the system will continue to run until the UPS issues a low battery alert after which it will issue the shut down command to the Astaro unit. 

    You just need to match the UPS to the power requirements of the Astaro unit or PC you are using.

    Thanks guys that's just the ticket.  I think I'll be going for an APC ES550 which seems adequate.  Nice to see its supported natively as well.
