UPS Support

I'm researching UPS systems for a customer at the moment and was wondering if anyone has any experiences with these?

Has anyone successfully installed UPS with Astaro Linux supported Power Management software?  If they have, what were their experiences and what would be the Astaro recommended UPS System to allow graceful halting and shutdown of the system on power failure?

Thanks in advance.

JB

  • APC and MGC are supported.  A simple ES350 or ES550 BackUPS from APC works fine.. you just plug the USB cable from the UPS into one of the USB Ports on the Astaro, and the UPS is autodetected.  IIRC, in the past, you had to reboot once for it to be recogized; I'm not sure that is required anymore.
