7.502 Up2Date Available (Soft-Release)

7.502 is now on our FTP site and available for manual download & installation. Following our soft-release schedule, we will push this Up2Date via our Content Distribution Network on December 14th.

This Up2Date is a stability release designed to keep your Astaro Installation running smoothly. 

This release offers a new version of the SSL VPN client with some fixes and improvements, and we have also changed the HTTP proxy option for handling encrypted zip files to be consistent with other areas of WebAdmin. The checkbox option now says "Block unscannable content"  (as it did before 7.501), instead of "Pass unscannable content".

The feature remains the same, we've just changed the way the option is presented to the user. Note that your existing configuration won't be changed; if you are already blocking these files they will stay blocked, if you are not blocking them, they will continue to pass.

    As I already tried to explain, we have our reasons why we don't provide complete changelogs.


    @Trollvottel ,we do understand that but if users(at least the beta testers) don't know the exact bugs fixed per version they are unable to check/troubleshoot/investigate new bugs since they don't know whether the ones submitted already are/will be fixed or not!(As you already know they are dependencies on bugs/issues)

    The issues will be:

    • Duplicate threads for the same bugs(until someone from Astaro says: bugs will be fixed in version x.x
    • We are unable to track down/check progress of the bugs submitted since we don't have access to your internal tracking system.

    Just to confirm, were there any changes made to the 7.502 update package that was released on 12/5?

    I noticed that the date stamp on the 7.502 update file located on the FTP site has today's date and that the MD5sum has changed.

    Is the 7.502 version (released on 12/5), byte-per-byte, the same 7.502 version that was put on the FTP server today?

    I unfortunately already deleted the 7.502 update that I downloaded on 12/5/2009 and thus can't compare them.

    The filesize is different, so who knows ... in the past I've seen subtle differences in "soft release" versions and "release" versions.  To be safe, I've edited the /etc/version file back to 7.501 and let it redownload the "release" version for update.
