Astaro on a Wireless Gateway

Hi all,

Is it possible to to use a Astaro (loaded on a PC with two NIC's) with a wireless gateway?

I have a Bigpond Turbo7 Wireless gateway with Mobile 3G in, to WLAN out. It also has a 4 port switch built in so I was wondering if I could get an Astaro unit to handle the security between these two wireless connections somehow?

    No, not possible at the moment, you will need to install a WLAN router on a dedicated ethernet NIC ("'wlan dmz').
    In your special case (where 3G / UMTS   and WLAN is integrated into ONE hardware device) you have no chance to plug in an ASG (or whatever other security device) between the wo networks, so in any case you would have to disable one of the two netweork access options (either UTMS or WLAN) on this Bigpond device and, provide the disabled functionality with a separate router, and plug in the ASG between the two devices.
     
    In 2010 it is announced from Astaro to have a special "wireless access point" solution, but this will only have WLAN, no 3G
