Memory Useage increase over a few days time

My motherboard is a GIGABYTE GA-G41M-ES2L LGA 775 Intel G4 running it with 3.0 Ghz cpu with HT , this cpu ran pefect a year ago in a similar build but using a foxconn mobo. I am using 2x2GB of Gskill DDR2 Ram, of course ASG sees it as 2.9GB since its not a 64bit build. This has to be some sort of bug...top reveals nothing abnormal..i am lost at this point. Maybe i will try and install an older build and see what happens

Just rebuilt my ASG box now running with the  7.502 firmware  i have 1 packet filter rule to allow internal to external , IPS disabled now after 1 and a half  days my memory usage is 24% this does not make sense, top reveals nothing.
I ran pfsense and endian  on this same box and memory usage stayed between 2-5%  ..does  anyone have any suggestions? im really at a loss on why ASG is using all of the ram, and what is using it

Just an update after doing everything that i tried to do to figure out why memory usage was growing at an alarming rate i decided to move my ASG onto an old HP DC5000

Socket 478 Intel P4 3.0Ghz with  3GB Of Ram, using 2 Intel Pro MT 1000 Pci-x server nics one for lan, the other for wan..with an on board Broadcom Gig nic as a DMZ port. i am hovering around 8-10% memory usage that's with IPS, and 4 Packet filter rules, remote access ssl vpn connected.I really wish i could figure out why the Hyper threading machine/ Gigabyte board combo just did not work out. I had ASG running on the same P4 3.0Ghz with HT on a foxconn motherboard last year and never had any issues. Im willing to bet it was something in the Gigabyte motherboard that ASG 7.502 just did not like..Strangely enough i never had issues running Pfsense, Endian, Smoothwall, Ipcop and Untangle on that box..Oh well i guess i will never no since i use this for home use.

dhaman3 - has your memroy issue been resolved - I see no conslusion here?

there is a kernel update in some of the updates you don't have IIRC.  Update to at least 7.503.  Also accounting will chew up ram.  What are your accounting and logging settings?

I am having the same issue running ASG 7.505 on an IBM xseries 360 with quad, dual core 2.0ghz processors and 4 GB of RAM.  After about 3 days, memory usage creaps up to about 65% and I have to reboot or the system gets sluggish.  It looks like the snort_inline process is using most of the memory.  When I rebooted today, I had three threads, each taking over 5% Memory.

Does this happen both if WebAdmin is left open or closed?  There's a known issue with a memory leak if WebAdmin is left open.

my situation was when the asg was running doing its normal day to day fire-walling, the memory increase would start creeping up so high that it would make me have to reboot just to free up memory again..my only fix was moving ASG over to an older socket 478 Intel machine w/ 3GB of ram, runs great .I know this isn't an option to a lot of people out there but it seems that ASG just did not like the single core socket 775 Intel P4 that i was originally using. Perhaps its something that occurs when using a single core socket 775 P4 that uses DDR2 Memory since that's what my issue was

Mine does this without WebAdmin open.  Well, it's open when I'm using it, but most of the time it's not open.
