ASG on FitPC2 ?

Hello there,

please take a look @ Specifications – Fit PC 2.

Is this piece of hardware compatible with asg v7.5 ? I know the atom cpu is running fine but the problem can be the chipet an the nics, i think.

Hi Umpf,

no it's not as the Fit-PC2 bases on a Atom-CPU, and this will need a special kernel which is not provided by 7.5xx

Hi again,

sorry I've been wrong -- the Atom CPU is supported by our ASG since 7.4. The NICs are indeed a problem, as you will need two NICs to install the ASG at least. Unfortunately the second one is WLAN NIC and cannot be used for installation.

that new model seems to have 2x10/100/1000 NICS.

thx for answers. the -i model is net, perfect. :-)
I will use xp with virtualbox to emulate 2 or more nics.

maybe the nics can be detected in native mode...
maybe i'll buy the -i model, the i can report how it works.

of course... :-)

ive downloaded the driver. it seems to be some kind of realtek cipset.
if they'll not recognized by installation wizard, i'm using xp on host with virtualbox (v3.1) and astaro within. so i can use both (or even wlan?) nics via mapping.

You could drive VLANs on top of a single NIC. Of course you also need a VLAN-capable switch for this.

Hi Mario, is there a guide to doing a install & VLAN setup with a single NIC? The discussions in the forums have led to the conclusion that it's difficult or impossible to configure the admin NIC for VLANs, unless one uses another computer or VM to do the config.
