Astaro ASG 7.501 with linux qemu.

I am runing Astaro Security Gateway V7.501 in linux virtual machine qemu-kvm (qemu-system-x86_64) and every time when host os (Debian with kernel 2.6.31) has lots off disk activity example copying files from folder to another astaro totally freezes i dont know is it astaro problem or qemu-kvm problem but eny of host's logs doesnt say eny errors and qemu-kvm is running normally only guest os gets freesed and totally stops responding anything.

Hi, is the system low on RAM?

If not, it sounds like Qemu or Debian has IO priority issues. You might want to read up on 'ionice' in Linux.

Hi

No System has 8GB:s of ram which has 2GB:s dedicatod to guest os.
Mainboard is Supermicro X8SIL and CPU is Xeon X3430 sustem supports VT-d and VT-x
Hmm. thanks ill try to investigate ionice thing

EDIT: I tested quickly today's morning with adding high priority to guest os with ionice and it worked ok i copyed 62GB:s of data over host os's disk without any problem. Thanks Barry
