I am trying to run Astaro Security Gateway on a new installation of VMware ESXi 4. I have tried both the appliance version and a fresh install from ISO. The problem is I cannot get my WAN link to get a DHCP address from the cable modem (Comcast).
ASG 7.5
eth0=Internal interface (connected in ESXi to vSwitch1 with other internal hosts) vSwitch 1 is connected to a physical NIC in the server and to a Netgear switch.
eth1=WAN interface (connected to vSwitch2) which is another physical NIC with a direct connection to the cable modem.
The WAN interface is configured as CableModem DHCP.
ESXi Network Adapters shows an IP range that the Comcast modem normally hands out.
Is there something I am missing? The setup worked fine as a standalone desktop. In ESX and ESXi there is no way to bridge VM NICs directly to the physical NICs in the box like you can in VMware player or VMware workstation.
HELP!!
