Shuttle X27

Has anyone tested Astaro v7.501 with Shuttle X27?

Quick-specs:

  • Intel ATOM 330 processor (Codename: Diamondville)
  • IntelRegistered 945GC+ICH7 Express Chipset
  • Realtek 8111C Ethernet network controller (Gigabit)
  • 1x 240 pin DIMM slots (supports max. 2GB capacity)
  • Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 (GMA950)


It's supposedly completely fanless and would make a decent home-firewall if supported. The biggest problem as I see it is that it only has one ethernet port and no room for addon cards, thus you have to rely completely on VLAN-support.

    Hi, it's impossible to configure Astaro for VLANs with only one NIC. You'd have to configure in a different machine, disable one NIC, export the config, and load into the single-NIC machine, and even then you'd probably still have trouble.

    See my signature for a $300 Atom system which uses much less power than a 945GC system, and has 2 Intel NICs.
