THIS piece of hardware?

Hello Guys,

take a look at

its an msi atom board (dualcore 330, active fan) with 2x realtek GBit Onboard.
Are the NICs recognized by the 7.5 kernel? I cannot find them in the HCL, but other realteks working...

    Hi, the MSI Industrial IM-945GC has 2 Realtek RTL8111C gigE NICs. They're not on the HCL but might work.

    See my signature for another MSI board, with dual Intel gigE NICs, but a fanless single-core Atom 270.

    How many users and how much bandwidth will you have going through the firewall?

    How about the performance of a single-core 270?
    Any advantages of the dualcore-atom? 1 or 2 gig ?
    I'm using proxy, av and spam-engine, ips, some filters.

    2 or 3 users. at least 2 of them over proxy.

    Hi,
    the single core atom will hardly raise a sweat with that small load.

    I have dual core atom asg, but haven't had it on-line to test it with v7.500 GA.

    The only things you are likely to notice is the webadmin is a bit slow and the build time takes a bit longer.
