HAL system daemon not running

Hi everydoby,

I'm a new french user of Astaro Security Gateway and I'm very happy with this great software.

Since I update to 7.500 I get ofter this alert email : 

HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) system daemon not running - restarted

--
System Uptime      : 0 days 0 hours 0 minutes
System Load        : 0.29
System Version     : Astaro Security Gateway Software 7.500

I currently use ASG in a virtual machine under ESXi 4 (virtual hardware version 7).

What does this email means ? Is it a problem or just an information ?

    I don't think this is an issue at all unless you're receiving a specific warning consistently.  IMHO, the Astaro is really "chatty" compared to other software of the same quality.  I guess this is due to its origins in the open-source community where most everyone is a programmer accustomed to software running in debug mode.

    PS Although I'm not sure what it means to "support paravirtualization," V8, presently in beta, is supposed to do that.
