ASG 7.405 Virtual Machine single to dual core

Hi,

iam using ASG w. Home License on VMWare Server 2 and installed and configured it using one vCPU. Now i have updated my Athlon 64 3500+ to a Athlon 64 x2 3800+.

my debian lenny host system recognized it without updating the kernel (SMP x64 kernel was installed by default)

i gave my firewall and other 2 VMs (vms and host are debian x64 and x32) 2 vCPUs and my 2 VMs recognized both vCPUs flawlessly after a reboot.

but my ASG VM not.

whats the problem here?

    I wouldn't worry about it. If you are only using the 10 user license you will not really see a performance gain anyway. If you really want to get 2 cpu's backup the config dump it to a usb stick. recreate the vm and install with it having 2 cpu's for the vm and it should install the smp kernel. put the usb stick to the vm and boot the astaro and it will restore the backup. I don't think you will see any performance gain though.

    hi, thanks!

    is there another way too? maybe without reinstalling a blank VM? maybe a factory reset via webadmin is enough? before i would create a backup of my settings via webadmin and download it - factory reset - reinstall settings backup?

    no other way?
