fan speed control

I am testing an install on an outdated HP DL560 and cant seem to get the apmd to fuction correctly on Astaro gateway 7.405 software. Any help, experience out there?

    BAlfson, I am pretty sure we are dealing with apmd-3.0.2-603.1.i586.rpm for SUSE enterprise 9. I dont know if it is loaded into the ASG7 4.05 by default. For the DL560 I will have to get the drivers from HP without corrupting the HAL with iLo2 reboots. I would prefer to use generic calls on the Linux Kernel support which I have done for boot CDs and such but not standing systems. I am new to Astero and trying to be a polite guest in what could be a very promising "must have" for everyone.

    ASG- ~Nice~ programatical structures, intelligent dependancy choices, so I may be a bit overly cautious. I guess with my age I tend to error on caution and respect.

    Hi,

    Good luck, I tried quite a bit to get any fan speed control on some old HP DL360 G3's and it never worked. Old HP's especially the 1U models are terribly noisy. And the BIOS is limited on making any adjustments, depending on the model of course.
