ASL 7.4 no support for new Servers

I just checked the HCL list from Astaro and the list contains servers from Dell/HP/IBM which is few years old and these models are no more available from the vendors.
Also ASL does not support any of the new branded Servers from these Vendors.I tried to Install and it does not detect the Gigabit NIC or Multi core CPU.
Just list any Branded 1U or 2U Server with GBIC and Multicore which supports ASL

    I tried to install it on the bellow Dell servers and it cannot Install says hardware not suported
    PowerEdge R410
    PowerEdge R610
    PowerEdge R710
    PowerEdge R805
    There are the models available with Dell and none of then given with the Astaro HCL,the list contains servers almost 2 years old.

    Sorry, we had too many problems with Dell, so we avoid their products and are thus totally unfamiliar with their hardware.  Maybe someone else here can help.

    Bleeding edge, or even newer hardware, often does not work well with Astaro, as they don't rebuild the kernel all that often to add driver support.  I just stick to the HCL, or equivalent hardware (we don't touch Dell, etc. servers either, we utilize custom appliances or offical ASG appliances).

    FWIW, it may be worth trying the 7.500 beta on one of those new boxes; I think they added support for some newer hardware in that release.

    Thanks, Barry.  Unless there's been a RAID controller change, I think most of the newer versions of approved HP servers work just fine.  It was in the early part of the decade that we sold a bunch of Dell, but we found too many hardware changes from one month to the next to be able to support them cost effectively.  Maybe they've learned their lesson, but we were "once burned, twice warned" by that experience.

    I use a IBM HS21 blade as my firewall. I have used it for more than a year. And my former firewall server was a IBM too. I don`t know if IBM is more conservative than Dell regarding using the newest hardware in their servers?
    Or if I just have been lucky. But they both just worked. 
    You can install Esxi server on the server first, and install Astaro on top, if Esxi supports your server.
    I think choosing servers are like choosing cars[:)]. We like different brands.
