what is the best practice for firmware upgrade

hello,

what is the best practice for firmware upgrade?
can i upgrade the firmware directly to the latest update ? 
or upgrade the firmware one by one based on available firmware overview.
if i directly upgrade the firmware to the latest version,what is the guarantee that all config will not change.

    Hi,
    safe a copy of the backup config on your PC before starting the upgrade.
    Best practice is to do them in order.
    Very few upgrades within a version change the config. The next step is to take a backup after each upgrade because some backups are not forward compatible.
