Hi,
over the last couple of months while testing v7.500b I have tried out a number of motheboards and hard disk combinations.
So far 2 dead drives and 1 dead NIC.
Interestingly the ASGs I tried to build using laprop drives were the and still are the hardest versions to get stable.
The M61PME-S2P motherboard works well with standard IDE or SATA drives, but when used with a laptop drive requires a number of reboots and disabling of some functions for about 4 hours. The Intel motherboard suffers the same problem.
The SATA laptop drives report into ASG as UDMA/100 where as the SATA DVD burner I use reports in as UDMA/133. I have changed the BIOS configuration to use different SATA configurations, but to no avail.
Changed one NIC for a supposedly faulty 4 port Intel device. Working okay at the moment.
Both require multiple shutdown, power removal then after starting, running a warm restart, with IPS disabled. Then IPS can be enabled some hours later and everything is stable. Not sure what will happen when I restart ASG, it runs on UPS so power surges won't be a problem.
Regards and more updates tonight

Now very confused. I rebuilt the ASG using a sata 1 36gb drive, it shows in the Kernel as a udma133. I changed the CD/DVD drive for an older one made in 2007 and IDE.
