I´m trying to install a Free Home Edition on a Pentium IV System with 5 Realtek NICs ( RTL8139D ). All the NICs are recognized during setup but after Installation none of the NICs answers to the IP Adress configured during setup.
I reinstalled the software with a 3COM NIC and 4 Realtek NICs and the 3COM NIC works. I was able to connect to WebAdmin and did see that the Realtek NICs were detected but do not react on connecting or disconnecting a network cable! They always stay UP UP and the strange thing is, they do all have no MAC Adress displayed.
I´ve tried Realtek RTL8139D and also RTL8139C, both installed with "standard" installation mode and also with "classic" installation mode.
Same mess... the Realtek NICs don´t work.
Any ideas?
The Installation ISO is the current ISO from the Astaro Website ( 7.4 ) and according to the Hardware List, Realtek is fully supported.
