Home Use License on an ASG 110/120

Hi,

I purchased a used Astaro ASG 110/120 for home use off of Ebay. I'm a computer professional and I'm trying to learn how the Astaro ASG works so I can evaluate them for future recommendation to my customers. The ASG 110/120 is in great shape and I love what it does. I would like to run this unit on my home network. I got a home use license but when I try to apply it to this unit it says that the license is "Invalid". I loaded up a Dell Poweredge with the ASG ISO 7.4 and the license applied with no problems.  I priced out getting a commercial license but the cost is too high when I'm just trying to learn the product. Any ideas. Is there a way to use a home use license on an ASG 110/120?

    Are you saying that I need to reload the ASG 110/120 and if so how do I do that? Can a hook a USB CDROM to it with the 7.4 ISO Image or do I need to purchase the Astaro USB Stick?

    You can also use a USB cdrom for this, but the stick is way more convenient if you need to do it more often. Just burn a CD using an ASG software installation ISO file (there is help in the knowledgebase about this), boot from the CD and the installer will guide you through the installation process. Since the old ASG110/120 only supports USB 1.1 this will take some time, but it should be rather straightforward.

    Hi,

    I reloaded with the new Beta Version 7.470 and my "Home Use" is still coming up invalid. Thought I was doing something wrong so I tried to reload with the "Free Home Use" ISO Version 7.4. It gets to the point where it's checking the hardware and that I can't proceed becuase "Attempting Non-ASG Install on ASG Hardware not allowed. . Remove CD and Press Enter". Am I missing something? What type of license can I use with the Beta Version? What's the trick to getting the home use license on the ASG 110/120 Hardware?
