I have two main questions, But first the history and setup
I just installed a new box with 7.402 on it and restored the backup from old box 7.306, all is fine after one week. So now i want to use the failover of my internet to a backup business class cable modem so i have multiple static ip's. I successfully dnat in with a new ip address on cable modem, so i can't use failover since i want this traffice to always come in on cable modem (also thinking of a second mx record for backup email later). So
1) i wasn't able to telnet to a client since they restrict by ipaddress, i assume since it does a round robin i must have been going out the cable modem, so i put in a multipath rule for telnet and by interface of my net card, (so far so good) (side bug note here is if i edit that one it defaults back to by connection i have to repick by interface or don't hit save)
what happens if my net line goes down, can i not telnet out at all?
2)My second question is my one line is faster than the other, so my guys in the Mis dept want to be able to tell thier browser which line to grab, we use to have the cable modem on a Novell Bordermanger proxy so we just changed proxyies, but now it is only one proxy. How can i sit at my Browser and tell it to pick one over the other?
ps, sorry about long post also we do use edir sso soon switching to AD sso so proxy is not transparrent we hand out with a wpad file.
