ASG 120 upgrade to 7.40: Unable to take astaro control from GUI

Hi all,
I've updated my asg (named one) from 7.306 to 7.40 with success but on the 1st reset I'm unable to take the control from webadmin. No ping and no https response from the internal lan configured. 

So I've made a test with a new device (named two) tring to make a fresh 7.40 installation from iso cd: no problem, the device boot and I'm able to take the 1st factory configuration but... when I put my config I have the same problem, so I lost control of the asg, no webadmin and no ping from the interface.

My config have HTTP Proxy, antispyware, Intrusion Protection, Remote Access and IM/P2P Control enabled.

Any suggestion on how to restore the control without loss anything on the astaro named one?

    Is One functionning for HTTP Proxy, etc.?  If not, then connect a monitor to see the IP of the Internal interface.

    Can you access WebAdmin via the External interface?

    Have you tried restoring a different backup to either device?  Put an unencrypted backup on a USB stick, then boot the ASG with the USB stick in place.  The Astaro will see the backup and automatically restore it.

    Hi Balfson,
    astaro one is http proxy configured.
    I've notice this: the ip from command line is regular 192.168.1.1. The internal dhcp is responding so my client get one ip from the scope configured (192.168.1.xx), but, i'm unable to ping the astaro (192.168.1.1) and no webadmin access (i've not changed the port that is the 4444 via https).

    Tried to restore from a bkf uncrypted via usb memory but nothing changed: no ping and no webadmin access. The new conf restored is without http proxy configured, only packet filter and idm.

    I've not idea on wht's happened to the astaro.

    Please note that the original config file is still running without problem on a 7.306 device.

    Any suggestion?

    Another detail: when astaro reboot, no error message on linux post but I can't hear the five beep signal at the end of charging.

    My guess is that you aren't getting DHCP.  Using ipconfig, release and renew the IP address for that adapter on your PC to see if you are getting DHCP instead of just remembering the one you had before.

    I think you need to put a monitor on it to see the current Internal IP.  Either that, or login through the External interface.

    I've made a renew and I'm getting the Ip from the scope configured on the internal dhcp. 

    So I get the ip but I'm unable to ping the astaro one device and no webadmin access too. 

    Seems that astaro has locked itself. I've tried also to disable and reanable the internal interface but nothing has changed.

    Ther's a way to copy all the configuration backups saved to an usb memory from the command line?

    This sounds like a repeat of my problem : https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/52/t/26872

    I could find no work around myself but 1 poster suggested putting the backup onto a USB stick and booting the ASG with the USB stick in the port in the theory that the ASG will read the backup before it starts to enable it's interfaces etc.  

    I didnt test this as I have rebuild the firewall from scratch (which is a complete and utter ball ache as you rely on the backup file working so you dont have to make copious notes on what the configuration is).  

    I hope you fare better than me at recovery.

    Remember to configure the Astaro to email backups to you.
