Not even getting to first base + PLEASE HELP +

Hi,

I am trying to install a Astro ASG 110 in my Win 2003 SBS network and I can not get to my ASTRO with webadmin.  I feel really stupid, have tried lots changes to these settings (see below for current mess), can someone please tell what the ip settings around the my network should be so that I can use webadmin from the server or any on the clients and configure my astro.

    Several things...

    If you are evaluating the Astaro, these are things your reseller would know how to do.

    Since this is a new ASG, I wonder if you still have ISA running on the SBS; you probably have a routing issue, too.  

    Make sure that firewalling is disabled on the SBS.  I would not have the server between the ASG and the network; team the adapters (this doubles throughput to your network) and make a single physical network behind the Astaro on 192.168.16.0/24, for example.  That removes the 192.168.0.2 address from the server.

    Isn't the default 'Internal (Address)' 192.168.0.1?  That's the same IP on your ADSL modem and would have been a problem.  You need to connect to the Astaro internal interface with a pc set to an address in 192.168.0.0/24; 192.168.0.222 for example.  Change the IP of the Internal interface to 192.168.16.1.  You will lose your connection after you 'Apply', so change the IP of your PC back to something in 192.168.16.0/24, hit F5 and login again.

    I don't know which ADSL device you have, but it should be set to bridge mode so that the Astaro's external interface can be given your public IP.  You may also need to change the Type of the Astaro External Interface from "Standard Ethernet" to whatever matches your ADSL modem.  The only ones I've worked with were in businesses and I was able to use "Standard Ethernet" with the real public IP.

    If you bought a Web Security subscription for the Astaro, you can uninstall the ISA server from your SBS.  If so, you will indeed want to change the gateway IP for the clients.  If you're serving DHCP from the SBS, you can change this there, otherwise you'll want to change it on each client PC.  If you do have to go to each PC, rather than leave the Astaro HTTP proxy in transparent mode, you might want to change the LAN Settings in the browsers to use a Proxy at 192.168.16.1 on port 8080 instead of changing gateway definitions.

    I'm not sure I got it all.
