I just bought a Compaq Presario PC with AMD Athlon X2 4450e.
During the ISO installation, it goes through the hardware check and complete
the installation through the reboot to access the web interface.
When the system is rebooted, it goes just a little past the grub menu and then
no more...the screen just sits idle, no activity, nothing. I constantly ping the
IP address but it never replied. This tells me that the blank or empty screen indicates
it never loaded completely. I waited for more than 1/2 hour but nothing. Pressing F2
to see if anything goes through...no luck.
So, if the install completed successfully which means that minimum hardware
requirement was met, why would it hang during the reboot?
Yes the drive is a SATA drive. But I also installed using an IDE drive in the same PC
but when rebooted it does the same thing...empty screen. So, I took that IDE drive and
installed it into another computer...it boots fine. I really would like to have 7.304 installed
in that Compaq.
Has anyone experienced the same or seen something like this and perhaps
know how to resolve?
Any suggestion is much appreciated.
