Featrue request: Delayed system update

Hi,

I know lots of admins who would never install a system update the same day. At least not on a production machine.

It would be nice to have a choice in webadmin to have delayed system update download.
So those machines would not fight with the others that are eagerly waiting to get a free slot on one update servers.

After the run had settled, there would be enough time to fetch the update.

    Using a proxy or, better, an up2date cache system will solve that problem in a better way.

    Walter, all you need to do is turn off 'Enable automatic firmware download' on the 'Configuration' tab.

    Good idea though; I just did that on our production machine, and I'll do the same for theclients I take care of.

    Sorry guys, you didn't get the meaning.

    I'm looking after 9 boxes at different costumers and locations. Now after 2 days, that they are showing the availibilty of a new update, only one has got the download tonight.
    the others are still waiting for a free slot at one of the overloaded servers.
    They are all production machines, that I shurely will not update today or tomorrow. 
    But I'm not able to do testing on my box, because it is still trying to get the update.

    What I wanted to point out, I think there are hundreds of guys like me out there, that cannot use cache or switch off automatic update at their costumers boxes. But those boxes would be fine, if they get the update 2 or 3 days delayed.

    I hope, I could explain my idea a little bit clearer.

    Dear Walter,

    do you know the Astaro Command Center?

    With this tool you have a version control and you can also control the prefetch in a easy way.
