I have a PPPoA connection via an Actiontec DSL modem/router. This device continuously falls off the DSLAM when someone is gaming online with xbox 360 and a couple other people are accessing the Internet using web browsers.
To get around this issue, I'm considering putting the router in rfc 1483 bridge only mode. However, I lease a block of IP addresses from my ISP. I understand that I can only assign one IP address to the PPPoA interface.
Can I put a 2nd ehternet interface on the WAN side of the Astaro, give the 2nd interface the rest of my IP addresses and use the IP address of the DSL router as the gateway? Or is some "magic" occurring in the PPPoE connection between the PPPoE Astaro interface and the DSL router?
