Any used ASG hardware for sale?

I'm considering moving up to a real ASG hardware appliance from my mini-itx box.  I'd like going up to a rackmount, and not fretting too much about forward compatibility.  That being said, I'm a home user so I'm obviously not made of money, and can't possibly afford/reconcile the expense of purchasing a new appliance.

I've seen a few ASG's on eBay once in a while, but I thought folks here might have a better handle on what's out there and what's reasonable.  I had seen a 110 go for $200 or so.  A few 220s are on there now, but starting bid is $400, and who knows where it'll end up.

Is there really much of a buyer's market for used ASG hardware? Are there deals to be had?  Should we have a special forum for this sort of thing?

    Any of the older hardware (the 220 or 110/120 units) will be limited to 512MB of RAM (the chipsets used just aren't capable of using more memory)... you would be better served by getting a used rackmount server (there are inexpensive ones available on ebay, etc.)... to run 7.400 with all the features enabled, you're going to want a machine with at least 1GB in it.  I'm in the midst of upgrading most of my customers to units with 1GB in them.  If you can find a used 320, that might be usable, they came with 1GB, and I believe even the older 320 units could be upgraded to 2GB.  If you plan on installing a home user license or regular software version of ASG on these, you will need to wipe out the partitions already in existence on the drive... other wise the non-appliance version of ASG will not load.  Also, in most cases, I've found that ASG software builds not created specifically for their appliances results in the interfaces on the front being registered in Linux out of order (for instance, the eth2 interface as labeled on the front of a 220 becomes eth0... this is due to the order the MAC addresses are assigned to the ports by the original hardware manufacturer).

    Ah, ok, thank you for this info.  This probably explains the lower prices I'm seeing on eBay ... people offloading the hardware no RAM upgrade path.  Hell.  Perhaps I'll be waiting some time for a proper 320 to show up there or on craigslist ;-)
