Rack Mounting

hello everyone!

My Question is, I just recently received an Astaro 220 FW and i would like to know the options for rack mounting it.

It has the screws on the front that go into the rack but the problem is the back of the unit isn't secured onto the rack so it kind of tips downward... My question is how would i go about fixing this problem?

does astaro make rails for mounting? or does anyone know of compatible rails ?

Thanks for your help!

  • No special rails... here's what I suggest:

Get a good-fitting phillip's head screwdriver (one that fits the head of the rackmount ear screws tightly) and loosen up the screws holding on the "ears" a bit... twist the ear so that the top edge is higher than it is when level, and hold it there while securely (and I mean securely) tightening the ears up... this would normally leave the rear of the unit pointing up a bit, but once you mount the unit in the rack, the weight and flexing of the metal will bring it back to level.  Also, use 4 screws to secure the two ears to the rack, and make sure they are tightened securely (preferably with the weight of the unit supported by a free hand).

  • The most easiest solution is to use a shelf which is mounted in the rack to support the AWG.
