Install Astaro over serial (w/o vga)

Hey there

Is there a possibility to install an Astaro ASG v7 via serial and without any vga??

I could get some nice desktop appliances over my company, but these apps don't have any vga port - just ethernet, usb and serial.

    I don't know the direct answer to your question, but... most appliances I've seen do have VGA ports built into them, but some do not have cable installed from the MB to the rear of the device.  Opening the case often reveals the VGA header, which you can plug a cable into to get the install done.

    Thanks for your answer... mhm I'll take a closer look if I can. It's also for me a bit confusing - an appliance without vga... [:S]

    Yeah, check the manual for the unit (you may have to google part numbers, etc. you find stamped on the MB) ... I'm willing to bet there's some provision for video on them.

    That notwithstanding, I don't think that there's a way to install without some video.

    Astaro Smart Installer can do this without any console - if the board supports booting w/o keyb!
    Just plug in the ASI stick, power on, wait app. 15min, reboot and connect to WA...

    I was under the impression that the smart installer only worked on Astaro's ASG appliances...
