ASG 120 not working :(

Hallo all...

I have big problem with our ASG 120. Today it stoped to work, no restart helps, its not possible to login to webadmin, nor ping it. We have active Gold Maintanance, but on the www.myastaro.com is information, that with Gold maintenance I can only contact my local supplier/support (not possible to open support ticket) but now is weekend and its not possible to reach them.

Can anyone pls help me ? maybe I could try to reset it to factory default settings and then put the latest backup file I have (I have never been doing it before). When I connect monitor on it, there are few "failed" services at startup, but I do not understand what it exactly means.

    Read-only file system at boot usually means the file system may be corrupt... did you have a power outage?

    If you have a backup, download the installation ISO or USB installer from the astaro FTP site:
    ftp://ftp.astaro.com/pub/Astaro_Security_Gateway/v7/software_appliance/

    You'll need a USB CD or DVD drive for the ISO, or a USB memory stick for the smart installer.

    Install, and then restore your backup.

    If you keep having problems, the hard drive may be going bad.

    ASG was on fully functional UPS, so we should not have had power outage. But maybe some users powered it off by button few times in row, not sure [:(]

    Unfortunatelly, I do not have USB CD drive now, so I would like to ask, if its possible to use normal USB memory stick for smart installer? or its some special kind?

    I think it now works on any USB stick large enough (1GB?).

    There may be instructions with the installer, I'm not sure.

    As you said, problem is with hdd. So ASTARO is sending new one to us nowadays... I am happy at least, tak till that time I was able to replace it with software version with old backup, and it working perfectly [:)]
