ASG 7 on ASG220 DMZ / 2 DSL Line Question

Happy Holidays everyone.

I'd like to run our ASG220 appliance V7 in the following way:

eth0 -- LAN
eht1 -- WAN (DSL)

But, we have two DSL lines coming into the building. One will obviously be eth1 (for our LAN to access the internet) but we wanted to take advantage the second DSL line as well and dedicate that to our servers.

Ideally, I would like to put our servers (web, app, file, mail) on the second DSL line and using its bandwidth.

Some help/steps/tips regarding this would be greatly appreciated!

I remember seeing an "ok" How-To Guide for DMZs for V6.x but haven't seen one for V7 or for anything such as two DSL lines in particular.

I'm pretty sure that you can't "bond" two DSL lines and get a fast-link like you can do with T-1 but wouldn't that be something!

    WAN link aggregation is one of the key features of the upcoming 7.400 release, which is currently available as a beta (7.380).  The WAN aggregation gives you some control and prioritization of the links, too- it sounds like what you need.  I don't have a firm release date, but I expect Q1 '09 for the formal release.

    Four-link WAN aggregation is in use in at least one production environment, and working very reliably.

    As far as design, I would suggest using four interfaces: LAN, DMZ, DSL1, and DSL2.  This will give you the most control of traffic.  You can use the second DSL line for uplink failover, or route some traffic out it with policy routing with the current release until you are ready to move to 7.400.

    That sounds great - I've been waiting for this for a while - way to go Astaro!

    Jack, is there a good read/set-up guide for configuring a generic DMZ? (We're in a production environment and uptime is important - one of our guys read the old 'V6 DMZ How-To guide' and we had to reset the appliance because webadmin wasn't reachable from anywhere - strange, he followed the instructions step by step.)

    I found a cool little article in the KB called "Policy Route a second WAN Connection" (for ASG v7) Article # 236926

    I haven't tried it yet but will be experimenting shortly...
