P45 Chipset / ICH10 Support.

Will Astaro be supporting these chipsets soon?

Most new mainboards use Intel's latest offering.
ICH10 SATA is not supported by Astaro.  (No disks found).

Support of this would be much appreciated.

    Support for current PC architecture/hardware would be a good idea.
    Nobody wants to invest in dated or redundant hardware!

    Picked up an Asus socket 775 P5Q WS MB with the ICH10R chip set.
    v7 installation fails in all modes. [:(]

    You need to realize that it takes awhlie for the Linux kernel guys to write drivers for new hardware.

    Also, it may take awhile for Astaro to integrate those new drivers, as they need to test them with their appliances, etc.

    That said, if you can figure why it fails (use ALT-F2, ALT-F3, ALT-F4 when it fails), that would help.
    Usually, it's the NIC drivers or the SATA drivers.

    If you can find out what chip they are, and lookup what linux driver/module they need, that would help identify what drivers Astaro might need to integrate.

    You've already identified the motherboard chipset, which is normally where the SATA controller is, unless the motherboard has third-party RAID.

    It's the ICH10 SATA controller.  This is a newer SATA controller version from Intel.

    Astaro fails to detect hard drives or CDROM's attached to it once install starts.

    What brand / model of M/B do you run?

    You may try to put the ICH10 into IDE compatiblity mode instead of RAID or  AHCI. Usually this can be done in the BIOS.
