Hi,
we're using a single ASG120 Appliance for connecting two of our branch offices via IPSec to our headquarters.
Yesterday I decided to update the ASG120 from firmware 6.314, which had been absolutely rock-solid btw, to ASG7.
The update process hung right before the first reboot, after the ASG downloaded the V7 Firmware.
I waited for almost an hour, but instead of rebooting the machine, as was suggested by the console message, the ASG just stood still, no HD activity, I wasn't able to log in via HTTPS or SSH...so I rebooted the ASG manually.
It seemed that the update process catched on from there, a few minutes later I was able to log in to the machine again and was greeted by the V7 Web Interface.
At first glance it seemed like all the settings had been imported from the backup, but one very important thing was missing: The IPSec VPN-Connections!
When I checked the status of both tunnels I only saw the message:
"There is no IPSec Site-to-Site status information available"
My question is: I know that some settings can't be transfered over to an ASG V7, such as the HTTP Proxy configuration...does the same hold true for IPSec connections, too?
If so, then what's the use in an update routine if you have to set up the whole machine from scratch again anyway?
Or could it be that the installation is simply borked, as was indicated by the system hang?
Anyway, any help would be appreciated!
