Adding more ram to ASG320

I have an ASG320 with 1gb of ram and over about a 2 week period my ram usage slowly creeps up to about 80% and then starts using swap space. Rebooting it returns it to about 40% ram usage/zero swap space and then the cycle repeats. When the unit starts to hit close to 80% ram usage it starts to get very sluggish as it is running out of ram and begins to swap. 

1. Would adding another gb of ram improve performance in any fashion, i.e. does the ASG320 require 2gb of ram to be optimal? Has anyone gone through this step or would I simply see my ram usage run up to 80% again but over 4 weeks ( I think there is a memory leak)

2. What kind of ram does the ASG320 take?

    I am having the same issue but with the ASG 110. If it is indeed a ram issue thats not fun bc the 110 only has 512. I guess I will try going into root like suggested.

    That 110 will work fine... I have several customers with small branch offices that use them... for small installations, works just fine.

    My ASG220 came with 512MB and i've just stuck 2GB in it...

    it was constantly at over 90% mem usage, and the web interface seemed to grind to a halt even though top showed it doing nothing... it's now sitting at a consistent 25% mem usage - will see how it gets on....

    If I might ask h3mp, how old is your 220? 
     
    The reason I ask is that original ones were limited to 512mb due to the chipsets used. A couple of years after that, along came V2, which still came with 512, but had the capability to see and use 1GB if upgraded aftermarket.
     
    Maybe I was misinformed about the limit of the V2 hardware or possibly there's a V3 now.
