Virtual Appliance / Default Route Host System

Hello,
I tried since a few days, to get a virtual ASG7 on VMware Server running.
The host system is a OpenSuse.
The vmware server is still running, and also the ASG7, but I have a problem with the route table on OpenSuse.
When OpenSuse starts, the real existent network interface card has no IP address (this is what I want, because only the ASG7 should manage the NIC).
After the vmware server starts, and within the ASG7, there is a interface calles "vmnet1" (host only networking).
I need now a default route to this vmnet1.
Where can I configure, that after starting the virtual appliance, the route will be set?

    Hi,
    I am in the process of testing a vm v7.303 on a mandriva x64 running vmware v2.
    You will need to put an address in the linux interface as well as the ASG interface otherwise they won't talk. The address of both devices needs to be within the same sub-net.

    So far I can get 1 interface out of 3 up, I need some more network gear to setup the ASG so I can see what is happening. Time to fire up the other Mandriva work station and an old laptop.

    Are you using an ADSL connection in your ASG and if you are how did you get it configured to talk to the ADSL modem?

    I have found a workaround.
    I have in the startup script of vmware inserted a line, which is setting the default route to the vmnet interface, after creating the vmnet interface.
    This will work for me. But I'm wondering, if I'm the first, with this problem.

    At the real NIC in my SuSE Open Linux, I will no IP, because this will destroy the safety of the system.
    But the interface must be up.

    I use no DSL modem on this server, becaue I test with static IP Adresses.

    My interfaces won't come without an IP address. We aren't the first because there are people with a vm asg in production and they haven't compromised their security.

    Maybe. But I think, if there is no IP address on this interface, there is no way to get a direct connection.
