eth5 interface down after every restart

I have an ASG 220. When it was installed I had a DSL line available for the eth1 external wan interface. Somewhat later, I got a T1 installed and added it to eth5 interface for the primary wan interface and converted eth1 to a failover interface. However, whenever the ASG 220 restarts, say after and up2date, the eth5 interface comes up down. I have to log in to webadmin from the local subnet and stop and start the interface. This means I cannot do up2date remotely. I have to be on premises. Very inconvenient. I this by design? Is there a way to fix this or should I give up and reconfigure the device to use eth1 for the primary interface.

  • That is peculiar.  Since you have a 220, and presumably Gold or Platinum maintenance, have you started a support case with Astaro yet? I'm sure they'd be interested in investigating that problem... definitely should not be happening on a 220.
