  • It's a step at a time.  6.314 to 7.000 is required.  From there, you might be able to restore a backup to a 7.302 image.  Has anyone tried that?  If not, I definitely would be the turtle in this race!

  • I would simply take screenshots of the proxy configurations, etc... up2date the Version 6 install to the latest 6.3xx release available, then create an UNENCRYPTED (this is important) backup of the Version 6 configuration.  I would download the latest Hardware Appliance ISO from Index of /ASG/v7/hardware_appliance/iso  , and install it using a USB CD ROM.  Just hook up the CDROM Drive, put the ISO in, and power up the machine.  The ISO will automatically self-install, with the LCD display letting you know what the progress is of the install, should not take long at all with a 425.

After install, login to the 425 using https://192.168.0.1:4444 and just skip the wizard.  Go to the Backup / Restore section, and use the Version 6 import tab to import your backup file.  After that, go ahead and reconfigure the proxies, etc. for which the configuration is not imported from Version 6 (basically everything but the firewall and NAT rules).

You can use the automatic Version 6.3xx to Version 7.xx up2date feature in Version 6, but I find this method is quicker.
