Creating a bootable DVD for VM application

Hi,
I have the vm asg software for v7.302. How do I make it bootable?

I have read the help documents and they aren't much help.

I have tried to create an ISO in both Windows and Mandriva, neither worked.

    Yes, but you have to be able to install it, or you saying you just copy all the files onto the disk for the vm partition. What then installs the boot sector info?

    I have done this before with prior versions of ASG and it wasn't this difficult.

    You should be able to unzip the VM files into a directory, and point VMWare at the directory.  When you unzip the files, what do you get?

    no boot sector info necessary. The VM package is completely self contained. to use, just unzip on the machine where vmware server/player is installed, and open the vmx file contained in the download. 

    That will launch the pre-instaed virtual appliance in your vm software.

    I get all the files, about 1.5gb of them. The ASG VM document advises to put it on a DVD, the VM software looks for an ISO and won't load from the dvd.

    I will copy all the files onto a disk partition and see what happens.

    Nearly got it going, requires a bit more fiddling to get the configuration correct. Probably need to re-compile the kernel to comply with the ASG requirements.
