Recommend DSL Modem for Bridge Mode?

Can anybody recommend a DSL modem for bridge mode?  I have another thread that indicates we are getting dropped packets with our current speedstream DSL modem.

Astaro support has been no help.  So we are trying to replicate the issue on another modem.  Our provider sent us a different Gigaset modem, but that modem does not support Bridging at all.

So, is there a DSL modem that works well in Bridging mode that is readily available?

  • The ones I have used with great success are the SpeedTouch 5xx series, specifically the ST 516v6.

I have also used Netopias, as well as 2Wire.

Of course, availability depends on your location. Where are you located?
  • I've a customer or 2 that is using the ISP-provided 2Wire DSL Modem in front of an Astaro... switching them to bridge mode was a bit of a chore (at least the first one was) because the firmware had been modified by the ISP to hide all the settings for bridge mode; fortunately, Google came to the rescue.  Seem to work well, though.
