What exactly causes a pair of 425 units in active/active to failover? Is it layer 2 sensitive? If a port on the 425 fails, or the switchport a 425 port is connected to looses layer 2 link, will it failover? I want to connect each 425 to a separate switch, and trunk the switches together. Otherwise it seems I would have to bond NICs on the 425 together to share across the switches. This seems overboard if the 425 is simply smart enough to failover when sensing a live link layer 2 failure. Any accurate and detailed input is highly appreciated. I've already read the HA/cluster guide, and 425 manual. Thanks guys.
