Update 7.202 -> 7.300 failed

Hi!

A customer form us can not update his ASG120 via Frontend, everytime the same error "Up2date failed" or something else. 

i tested "auisys.plx --rpmargs --force" in the console, but the kernel package failed:

any idears what to do?

    Having the same issues on multiple clients right now.

    Had the same issue.  Support had me reimage the device with 7.300 and then import backup file from V6.  This was an ASG220.

    Once I completed the import of the backup file, I updated to 7.301

    Not the most elegant solution.....

    Hi,
    I found my solution in the german forum (Up2Date schlägt fehl.).
    I logged in as root and entered following command:
    auisys.plx --rpmargs --force



    I´ve made a fresh 7.1 installation for a customer. After installing the 6.x config, the upgrade from 7.1 to 7.202 works without any problems. But the upgrades from 7.202 to 7.300 won´t work. After several unsuccesful efforts to upgrade over three days, including cleaning the upgrade/sys files and renew the download of the packages, I let run your command and the upgrade from 7.202 to 7.302 works easily.

    BTW, on my home installation, the same procedure works without any problems.

    didn't work for three ASGs ... still having the problem:
    Installing rpm package: kernel-default-2.6.16.60-77.i686.rpm Failed!

    2x ASG120
    1x ASG110

    Updating via
    /sbin/auisys.plx --rpmargs --force
    didn't help either  : /

    I had the same problems on 3 x ASG120 and 1 x ASG320.

    After trying around, I found an article which described this problem.
    There was too less available memory on the described ASGs.
    So I temporarily disabled all services (IPS, PPTP, site-2-site VPNs, Proxys, etc.), rebootet the ASGs an startet "auisys.plx --rpmargs --force" which had failed before.... now there are all ASGs running 7.302.

    Try to give as much as possible menory to the up2date-procedures ;.)

    Maybe it would be a good idea to upgrade the appliences RAM?

    I was having the same issue on an ASG220 not updating from 7.202 -> 7.300+
    This solution finally worked for me, thank you very much!

    This helped me too.  I was stuck on 7.202 with installation pre-check failures in the up2date.log file.  The command line got me running up 7.304.

    Followed that advice; received email that 7.300 was successfully installed, but the ASG locked up (hard!) while trying to unpack 7.301. I will have to wait until I get home in a few hours to check the console and see if I simply need to soft reboot it (telinit 6) or if it's down "hard" and will need to be power cycled.

    I just checked one of the ASGs that I support (not my personal unit) and it also fails to upgrade from 7.202 to 7.3x

    A little research, and I've discovered that up2date never downloaded the 7.300 package (look in /var/up2date/sys). Further, I can see it downloading right now, but in the last hour of downloading, it has retrieved less than 10% of the total package (>200MB).

    I'm going to d/l the package locally, then push it up manually and see if that'll make it run faster.

    Hi Jim,

    Have you tried rebooting the ASG before performing the update?  Also, are you running the force command (auisys.plx --rpmargs --force) from SSH, or are you using WebAdmin?

    Thanks; that suggestion tipped the scale. I'm now successsfuly at 7.305.

    Based on my lack of results with WebAdmin on my personal unit, I didn't even try that. The force command did the trick. I also disabled unneeded services (PPTP, L2TP access) prior to rebooting so it would come up as clean as possible (in terms of memory utilization); this may have also contributed to success.
