Updating 7.202->7.300 strategy

Hi,

running 2 clustered ASG 220 w. 7.202 and SMTP Proxy, Webproxy, Mailencryption. Actual load is 80% of 496 MB (512 MB installed) 
Swap is 27% of 1 GB.

Now, i want to upgrade up to 7.300.

As i´ve seen some update issues within this board, i´m thinking about the best update strategy. 

I would shutdown the cluster slave first. Then upgrading the master and looking for upcoming issues. After another day without problems, i would start the cluster slave and upgrade this one.

Might this be a possible way? Are there recommandations belonging to the load?

    is it possible to get a qualified answer from astaro or a partner for a updating roadmap our cluster with 2xASG 220 from 7.202 to 7.302?

    Since it is a production system, i don´t want to "try and error".
    7.202 is working fine, but i want to participate the new features from 7.3

    Which steps are recommendet? Upgrade first to 7.3 then to 7.302? or dirctly.
    Only the "master", then trying, and then the slave?

    Please advice

    If you just let the automatic Up2Dates proceed, you have a 90% chance of no problems.  Of course, you already know that you can't skip 7.300 or 7.301 if you go through the Up2Date process.  Bad luck for us was that the only problems we had were with the one client similar to you: "2xASG 220 HA Cluster mode, V7.202, SMTP Proxy, Webproxy, Mail-Spam/virus ... enabled" but not encryption.

    Apparently, there was a known bug in V7.202 that blocked the Up2Date process for some devices.  It appears that almost everyone was able to "push" the process forward using ssh.  That was what an Astaro engineer did for the client I mentionned.  Their second device got stuck, so I had to reload it from scratch from a CD.  There was no downtime and nothing was lost other than my time.

    If you want to reload the units one at a time, you will need a USB CDROM.  You can skip the intermediate UP2Dates and use the V7.302 iso:

    The downside of loading from a CDROM is that all of the log files get erased, so be sure to download any that you think you might need.

    If you have good support (access to Astaro engineers or a strong reseller), then I would suggest going through the regular Up2Date process; you can always do the CDROM reload if the Up2Date causes a problem.
