ASG V7 Virtual Appliance install error

Hello Folks,

I´ve tried to install the ASG V7 Virtual Appliance Image on my ESX Server (Version ESX 2.5.2). I got following error when starting up the image:

Waiting for device /dev/disk/by-label/root to appear: .......... not found -- exiting to /bin/sh


Is there any setting I have to change? Please help.... [:S]

    Well first off I would suggest updating ESX to 2.5.5 as it fixes a TON of known issues, or migrate to 3.5 if your license is current. 

    As for the error, it does not look to me (I could be wrong) that you are using the correct ASG image version for the version of ESX you are running, but if you know for a fact that you are using the correct image, then re-download and try it again from scratch. When I first downloaded the pack I found myself confused by the file names and tried to install the wrong ASG version on my ESX box, this is a common issue. 

    Make sure you are deploying from ESX correctly as well, not to be confused with installing or building an image. e.g make sure you have unzipped the files to the correct location for your virtual infrastructure to use and then CLICK DEPLOY.

    Installing ASG on ESX is a quick 5 click setup and works flawlessly. Avoid trying to build your own ASG image as there is no need to do so.

    So what Image do I need? I have downloaded the Image for ESX 2 and the non ESX one. When I try to import the non ESX one I get the error message, that it is a not supported VMWare file. 

    How did you import the VA Image? I copied the files to my ESX Server and then copied it (Manage Files) to the vmfs. ESX told me that the files need to be converted and I cliecked "yes". Is it the right way?
